Have you ever said, “That will never happen?” Perhaps it’s something you’ve dreamed of doing or not doing. The situation could be about another person or happening.
Before you fall prey to the Never Syndrome, remember the lightbulb, automobile, and television were once laughable concepts.
Take a look at the following list of 7 items that came from Popular Science. These were once referred to as science fiction (first date) and later became a reality (second date).
- Defibrillators (1820 – 1947)
- Space Stations (1869 – 1971)
- Computers (1872 – 1940’s)
- Lab Grown Meat (1880 – 2013)
- Long-term Heat Storage (1905 – 2007)
- Tasers (1911 – 1974)
- Portable Audio (1953 – 1954)
What do the above scientific discoveries and inventions have to do with you? Many people are wasting their gifts and talents because someone told them their dreams would never happen.
- Impossible.
- You don’t have what it takes.
- Give it up.
Just about anything can fall into those categories.
Nothing is impossible.
Consider medical advances, technology, archaeology findings, people who rose from humble means to worldwide recognition, and a host of too many achievements to list.
Take a moment and list the one thing you desperately want to accomplish.
- Why is it important to you?
- How would it give you satisfaction?
- Would it benefit the world?
- List the knowledge needed to grasp your dream or goal?
- What else is needed?
