Special quotes use emotion and creativity to express how we feel. A twist of a phrase or a unique word speaks a fresh meaning into our lives and shape us to become better people with optimism and joy.
The following quotes about autumn, harvest, and Thanksgiving fill me with fresh enthusiasm for the fall season.

- “It looked like the world was covered in a cobbler crust of brown sugar and cinnamon.” Sarah Addison Allen
- “Autumn leaves don’t fall, they fly. They take their time and wander on this their only chance to soar.” Delia Owens
- “Autumn burned brightly, a running flame through the mountains, a torch flung to the trees.”Faith Baldwin
- “It’s the first day of autumn! A time of hot chocolatey mornings, and toasty marshmallow evenings, and, best of all, leaping into leaves!” Winnie the Pooh Pooh’s Grand Adventure
- “The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest.” Psalm 85:12
- “Autumn is a promise that the explosion of vivid colors in this life will be even more vibrant in heaven.” DiAnn Mills
- “Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go.” Unknown
- “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” Albert Camus
- “Notice that autumn is more the season of the soul than of nature.” Friedrich Nietzsche

I love the endless ways God paints the leaves one last glorious mix of color before they fall to the ground, wilt and decay, and are absorbed by their tree to give it nourishment next spring.
Thanks, Karen, I like how God shows the older we get, the more beautiful!
I love how the land God created yields a harvest that nourishes not only our body, but also our heart, mind, and spirit.
Michelle, that is a beautiful quote. Thank you!
I love your quote, DiAnn!
Oh, thank you, Linda.
All these quotes paint a unique perspective of autumn as given by the various authors. We just returned from a trip to the Smokey Mountains and I found all these beautiful descriptions to be true. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks, Barbara, I love how authors look at beauty and put their spin on it.
Autumn is my favorite season too. I love the colors, the cooler weather and the layering up of fall wardrobe. I love soups and stews and pumpkin everything. Time to get my great grandma’s pumpkin bread recipe out.
Thanks, Cherie, I’m baking everything fall I can think of! Justtried an apple cider, cinnamon raisin bread. 🙂
DiAnn, that sounds interesting. Did you like it?
Like most people, the beautiful colors of fall are a favorite for me. My husband mows our lawn just before the leaves start to fall in large quantities so when they do the yard looks like a bright yellow, orange and red carpet. I love that.
When our kids were little we’d play in the leaves, jumping, throwing them up into the air…now days I toss them up and our dog goes crazy trying to catch them before they hit the ground.
Melissa, I remember those days when the kids jumped and played in the leaves. Such great memories. Thanks for the sweet reminder.
The lengthening shadows each day. The crispness in the air. The bright-colored Chrysanthemums. This are my favorite things about Fall.
Judythe, good to hear from you. Houston has few crisp days, but I cherish each one!
Where I grew up, in Michigan, fall was a burst of so many colors we couldn’t count them and we were always too busy to try. It was a time to visit pumpkin patches and take color-tour road trips. I live in California now where the warmth is kinder to my old bones, but your quotes took me back to that beautiful Michigan fall weather and warm, exciting family times. Thank you for sharing. Peace.
Thanks, Jen, I grew up in Ohio and experienced the same magnificent color – as well has hay rides and lots of pumpkins. Like you, I now live in a warmer climate and have to travel for the autumn display. Thanks for commenting!
Like you, Autumn’s my favorite!
There’s so much to love about the colors, the sounds, the flavors, the feels ,and the fragrances.
I also see a lot of spiritual parallels this time of year. I just love that!
Maureen, love the spiritual parallels too. The falling leaves showing how we must die to ourselves before rising again to life. Oh yes, thanks for the reminder.
DiAnn, your statement is so beautiful. I can’t wait to see the colors of our Eternal home.
I love to get out my colored pencils and coloring book and look for a picture with leaves in it…Autumn leaves, here I come to color you:)
Thank you, Vondia. Heaven will be more stunning than autumn, and that is something for all of us to look forward to!
I love the cooler temperatures and the colorful foliage. And the anticipation of family holidays.
Debbie, I agree. Everything about this time of year brings a smile to our faces.
The beautiful colors, brisk air, refreshing of the soul!
Nona, I love – “refreshing of the soul.” We all need spirit-filled joy not only this time of year but year around.
I love the leaves changing color here in Kentucky.
Ethelann, We were in Kentucky a few weeks ago, and the colors were stunning!
