Summer Giveaway!

This summer has been amazing. We’ve enjoyed fabulous days bathed in sunshine and bursting with fun. Some of you have made memories away from home, and some have explored your backyard. Many of us have spent time at picnics and barbecues, family reunions, fireworks, and lazy afternoons by the beach or pool.

But I think we’re missing something . . . How about a summer giveaway?

Something fun.

Unusual.

Easy to enter.

  1. I am enjoying air conditioning that is now fixed and working properly. Whenit’s 110 outside and 81 in your house, it’s time to call the A/C repairman. ?

  2. My husband and I have been taking mini-trips together. Enjoying the fact that our kids are grown and we can actually afford to see new sights.

  3. I’m enjoying my early morning devotional times and spending time with friends. Reading books that I’ve been waiting to read. Including a new one, I just received from Amazon. It’s by a very talented new and upcoming writer and her mentor called “The Eye of Lariloth.” Going to do some journaling as well and bead weaving. I sound busy, but I’m not, it’s all in the joy of doing the things I love.

  4. I’m enjoying spending time outside in the sun, walking our dogs, reading, and working on my manuscript.

  5. We are experiencing empty nest again this summer. With our oldest moving away for a couple years and him spending as much time as possible with his fiancé, we have been enjoying as much us time together as our jobs will allow.

  6. I just enjoyed a week at the Highlights Foundation Summer Camp at the Barn with other writers and faculty — a blessing!

  7. This summer I am enjoying many new beginnings and changes for the better. People getting married, moving on with life, and having babies. Loving life and all the comes with it!

  8. I am enjoying being with my husband who is not deployed in the summertime for the first time in 7 years!

  9. I’m super excited to be able to see 2 concerts beginning of August!!!!! One a gift the other a radio win!!!!

  10. I am enjoying just being lazy in the mornings and also getting to spend some time with ny grandchildren I have 2 older grandchildren that are 24 and 23 boy is the oldest girl youngest and my 2 grandsons that are 17& 15 we have been able to do some things here around our town it’s been fun!!

    I am enjoying less crowds and traffic this summer since it’s not tourist season and am enjoying our not as hot as usual summer especially when compared to scalding temps nationwide! Summer is our relax time in Florida whereas winter is very active due to cooler weather and more activities!

  13. One of my favorite things about summer is the glorious smell of freshly mowed grass. With the rains we had the past few weeks, people in my neighborhood have been mowing. What a lovely aroma.

  14. I’m looking forward to enjoying a visit from my sister-in-law later this summer. She and her husband run a school in the Philippines, so we don’t see each other very often. But we get along like a house on fire, so I’m really pumped about her visit.

  17. I spent a week in Branson w/ family from Minnesota, FL, St. Louis, St. Charles, & OK! We went to see “Samson” at Sight & Sound Theater, and the Titanic museum..Enjoyed all of our time together! 🙂

  20. I am enjoying all the extra time I am spending with my husband. Lots of hiking, fishing and trips to the coast.

  21. I’m enjoying fresh cucumbers from our garden this summer! They taste great with salt, olive oil, vinegar, a pinch of sugar–cheese and tomatoes optional. 🙂

  22. This summer is special to me as I know have a 8 month old Great Grandson. He lives in North Carolina so I with it being summer I get to see him more often and I’m loving it.

  23. I’m having so much fun growing veggies in pots, including zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, sweet peppers and even strawberries!

  24. I am enjoying the gift of nature. Long walks in the woods, just God, me, and his creation. It’s very healing.

  28. I am enjoying a vacation of a lifetime. From Alaska to Michigan we have driven. Oh, the country we have seen as well as the wildlife…amazing.

  29. My husband and I enjoyed 2 glorious weeks on a small island at the tip of the Yucatan. Called Isla Mujeres. Now that we’re home back in Texas we are grateful for sunny days in the pool.

  30. Anticipating a visit from my little sister, whom I’ve not seen since my niece’s wedding, four years ago.
    I cannot travel, due to physical limitations so I’m really excited!

  31. I’m enjoying the family time together and seeing my kids and hubby’s face when they come home from fishing, especially when they catch a stringer full of fish.

  32. I’ve enjoyed a trip to Orlando to visit with my Mom… first visit in ten years! It was far too short of a visit, but it will not be so long between the next! Highlight of my summer!!!

  33. I’m loving spending time with family. I also enjoy seeing all the perennials in my garden taking turns blooming.

  34. I’ve enjoyed sitting on the back patio this summer in the evenings. It is a peaceful place to land after the business of the day.

  35. We are on the road for about 2 weeks now. We attended the funeral for my husband’s cousin outside Boston. We are glad we visited her in Florida just 2 weeks before she passed. She was feeling fine and we had a good visit. It was nice to visit relatives in New England that we rarely get to see. We are now in Northern New York visiting my family. My youngest brother has terminal cancer and one of my sisters had 4 strokes in the past month. They are both looking good and keeping up with their treatments. We are staying with my best friend from high school (55+ years ago). It has been a good visit. We are taking our time traveling, taking back roads, and different routes than we have in the past from the North back to Tennessee. We are making as much of a vacation as we can out of it. Sadly, when you reach a certain age, many trips at centered around illness and funerals. I hope everyone has a great summer.

  36. Loving the lazy days and getting away with as little as I can get away with…looking forward to going to the beach for a week…can’t wait!

  37. I love the summer! It gives me time to catch up on my reading. Reruns on TV, whip out the book. Going on vacation, make sure you pack a few books!

  38. This summer, I am enjoying our first grand baby. He will turn 1 year old on July 24th. Watching him learn to walk and talk has been amazingl. Watching our son and daughter-in-love care for him, love him, nurture and comfort him is a wonderful blessing.

  39. My highlight of summer is always working in church camp, which was last week. I had the privilege of hanging out and worshipping with 37 teenagers and 12 others adults for a week in a beautiful campground.

  40. I am looking forward to having family visit from out of town this week. Can’t wait to have all the grandkids together!

  41. This is my summer to vacation. For the past 5 years I’d been a full-time care giver for my mom who has dementia. Last fall we had to put her in a facility since she had gotten worse and was beyond my capabilities. This summer I’ve spent a week with my best friend, and I am getting ready to spend 2 weeks working at a mission in Alaska. I know I miss my mom, but I know that she would want me to enjoy my summer.

  42. I am enjoying family time, reading, getting ready to travel to Colorado, reading, evenings by the campfire…and reading!

  43. I’m enjoying time with my children, swimming, camping, and only working part-time this summer. I’m also planning a nice vacation for next month. I love summer!

  44. I am very enjoying my husband this summer. The last 10 years were spent working hard the summer months, and this year we made a huge effort to enjoy the weather more. (We don’t get great weather in the Pacific Northwest for long stretches)

  45. I’m enjoying a staycation at home next week where I plan to read/review books and cuddle with my three kitties. Cannot wait!! Happy Summer, Everyone!

  46. I’m enjoying the fact that my kids are all at camp this week??. Seriously though, I’m enjoying all the family fun we’re having this summer.
