  1. I remember the rootbeer barrels, Junior mint, and bit ot honey but I loved the hershey’s bars adn almond joy and mounds. I guess I was ahead of the times. I remember the tar babies, I loved them too.

  2. Well now, since I am SO old…(85)…let me tell you a favorite when I was a kid….Peanut Patties….absolutely delicious! YUM!
My daughter found out that Amazon carries them. We’ll probably be ordering some:)

  3. My favorites were Sweetarts and Fruit Stripe Gum. There is an old store near Helen, Georgia called the Old Sautee Store that sells a lot of those old time candies you can’t find any place else. I always love to visit there and stock up. Also down the road is the Babyland General Hospital where Cabbage Patch babies are born.

  4. I have a favorite from each decade – but I wasn’t born until 1964! One of my all-time favorites is Junior Mints, loved Sugar Daddy, and the 100 Grand Bar (known in the ‘70s as the 100 Thousand Dollar Bar!) was one I loved, too!

  5. I remember having a nickel to spend at the “bridey” (variety) store, and blowing it on 20 tar babies, a licorice confection that I loved so much. They were 4 for a penny. I could make a nickel’s worth last all week!! Lol

  6. I love Dad’s Root Beer Barrels. I still find some at the drug stores but their not Dad’s brand.

One of my favorite from the 50s isn’t mentioned. Mom called it milk candy but I don’t know the real name. It was shaped like a bottle and, when you bit into it, it had a creamy liquid filling. I need to hunt in Cracker Barrel and see if I can find it.

  7. Forever Yours Bars… not the Milky Way Midnights that they say are the same. They really aren’t. I just now saw that Ethel M Chocolates made a Forever Yours bar. I’m going to have to order one and check it out.

    1. Linda Kish, I enjoyed Forever Yours bars too! And I liked the small wax bottles with liquid inside, of different flavors. My dad and I bought Sees candies and shared a box every few months.
