Sara has a free book for you!
When Elenora discovers a mysterious gate while out for a walk and summons the courage to push it open, her life is changed forever.
There’s nothing better than having more insight into our favorite authors. So I asked Sara a few questions.
Q: What is your home state?
Actually, I’m in Canada, and my home province is Ontario. I moved a lot while growing up and my husband and I continued that trend – moving ten times in our twenty-nine years of marriage, so we’ve lived in – he retired last year and we are now settled in the beautiful Niagara region, where I’m hoping we might stay for a while.
Q: What is your superpower?
This year it feels like juggling. I have taken on numerous writing projects, so between those, getting involved in our new church, and carving out time for family and friends, I can feel a little underwater some (most) days. So maybe less of a superpower and more needing to make better choices? 😏
Q: What is your favorite vacation spot?
I am blessed to have two friends with cottages, and I often go to one or the other for a writing retreat that involves coffee on the dock, movie nights, prayer time, and also a lot of writing. A working vacation, I call it, and it is always fun, refreshing, and productive. I do love a good road trip, though. My favorite destination would be the East Coast, particularly Prince Edward Island and the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Fabulous scenery, relaxed pace of life, and the locals are very friendly and welcoming.
Q: What is your favorite genre?
My favorite has always been romantic suspense. I’m sure that’s why, although I never made the conscious decision to write in that genre, that’s what came out when I penned my first novel. I love the intensity and edge-of-your-seat excitement of suspense, but I also love a good love story, so the combination is perfect for me. When I want to read for pure escapism and enjoyment, however, I do love a good rom-com.
Q: Do you have a hobby?
Walking, biking, and reading would be the biggest ones. Is going for coffee with friends a hobby? If so, that’s definitely something I love to do. I also enjoy perusing used bookstores or thrift stores or garage sales looking for treasures.
Q: What are you reading?
I have an eclectic taste in stories. While romantic suspense and rom-com tend to be my go-to’s, I also really enjoy fantasy, and I just finished Caligo by J.J. Fischer, which was excellent. Considering what to read next…. so many amazing books on my Kindle! Side note: I can clearly remember as a kid being worried that I would run out of books to read. Now I know how impossible it is to even read the books I have stored in my e-reader in my lifetime. Too many great books is a good problem to have 🙂
Q: Any other special interests?
Family time is huge for me. I love when all three of my young adult kids are home – it just makes me happy. I also love get-togethers with my parents and two sisters and their families. We eat a fabulous potluck dinner and then play games for hours, so fun. I’m also a huge baseball and hockey fan (Go Team Canada and Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leafs!). Since we only have girls in my family, we were conscripted to watch Hockey Night in Canada every Saturday night with our dad, and we still love to watch games together or, better yet, go to live games. We just went to a Toronto Blue Jays game in March for my dad’s 85th birthday. They showed him on the JumboTron and total strangers were coming up to him for the rest of the game to wish him a happy birthday. Amazing memories.
Don’t forget to check out Sara and her books.
Thank you, Sara, for sharing with readers.
