This week begins a monthly spotlight on romantic suspense writers who wow me with their amazing stories, and I want you to know about them too.
Welcome Caitlin Miller!
Caitlin Miller, represented by The Steve Laube Agency, has been writing stories for nearly a decade and self-published two books in 2022. She has also been an English teacher to Japanese students for six years and a freelance editor for two years. When she’s not writing or editing, Caitlin loves frequenting bookstores and coffee shops, and you’ll often find her with her nose in a book or a pen in hand as she jots down storyline ideas. Caitlin is an award-winning author and poet. Follow her journey at https://caitlinfaithmiller.com

During the Great Depression, Elliot Poet splits his time between Tennessee logging camps and local cemeteries, where he writes poems to escape the weight of his past. But everything changes when he finds a haunting poem about death with a blackbird signature and a chilling countdown. With only two days to unravel the poet’s identity, Elliot exchanges poems with the mysterious writer, which forces him to confront his inner demons.
When an old flame returns to town, Elliot grapples with rekindled feelings and the urgency to save a stranger.
With time running out, will Elliot be able to save a soul in despair—and, in the process, save himself, too?
There’s nothing better than having more insight into our favorite authors. So I asked Caitlin three questions.
Q: What is your favorite hobby?
A: Reading! I set ambitious reading goals every year and read 100 to 150 books.
Q: Do you have a favorite genre?
A: I love reading and writing historical fiction because it allows me to go back in time and explore time periods I won’t get to live outside the pages of a book. I can’t get enough of is WW2 stories!
Q: Any other special interests?
A: I treasure all things vintage—typewriters, handwritten letters, classics like Pride & Prejudice and Little Women.
Don’t forget to check out Caitlin’s website and her books.
Thank you, Caitlin, for sharing with readers.
Please Congratulate Dennis from Indiana as the random winner of a $35 e-gift card! He was selected from commenters on last week’s blog post. Many thanks to all who submitted suggestions for article ideas in 2025. I’ve compiled them into a spreadsheet so I can reference in the coming months.
