The Sudan - DiAnn MillsThe critical situation in Sudan is one of my passions. Many Sudanese, as well as those who minister to them, are dear friends. I believe in telling everyone I meet about their plight and persecution. A combination of politics, religion, and natural resources fuel the danger and uncertainty in this volatile area of Africa. Christianity is growing, especially in Southern Sudan. When I see the rising numbers of those who have chosen to accept the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ, I remember this quote from Tertullian, “The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.” I’ve been there, and I’ve seen the courageous determination of a people who refuse to be beaten. I urge you to investigate the turmoil in Sudan and prayerfully consider supporting an organization that ministers to them.

Lost Boy No More by DiAnn Mills and Abraham NhialI first became aware of the problems in Sudan when I was approached by volunteers of the Aid Sudan Foundation (known now as Every Village) in Houston to write a book about the Lost Boys of Sudan. After attending the first Lost Boys conference, I agreed to write the story of the Lost Boys of Sudan with Abraham Nhial and, consequently, Lost Boy No More (Broadman and Holman) was released in Fall 2004, now out of print.

To learn more about how God continues to use Rt. Revd. Abraham Yel Nhial, please visit this site – Diocese: Aweil. He is now Bishop of the Diocese of Aweil in South Sudan.

When the Nile Runs Red by DiAnn Mills

Recognizing that some people prefer fiction to nonfiction, I created a fictional tale based on the people I met while researching Lost Boy. That book, When the Lion Roars (RiverOak), was released in Summer 2005, now out of print. I visited Southern Sudan in November 2006 and wrote another novel When the Nile Runs Red which was published by Moody Publishers in September 2007, now out of print. All book sale royalties went to Every Village – a qualified non-profit 501(C)3 tax-exempt organization under the Federal Tax ID #76-0653562.

More recently, I’ve released ebook-only titles, Long Walk Home (Tyndale), June 2019, and Where Tomorrow Leads (Tyndale), June 2020, which are updated and refreshed novels for today’s ebook readers, based on When the Lion Roars & When the Nile Runs Red.

Illiteracy remains rampant, and many are unable to read the Bible. Your purchase of either LONG WALK HOME or WHERE TOMORROW LEADS will directly impact the people of South Sudan since I will be donating all royalties to Every Village, a 501(C)(3) Organization, to help distribute solar-powered, hand-held radios in local communities.

Every Village’s radio network reaches the masses with the gospel and community development teaching—broadcasting Bible stories, health & hygiene training, news, and educational programming in local languages.

Additional information about LONG WALK HOME & WHERE TOMORROW LEADS including video clips, chapter excerpts, and discussion questions are available by clicking on either title. I’ve also included some specific ways you can pray for the Sudanese.

Don’t forget our friends in Sudan. They appreciate and need our daily prayers and support. Will you join me?
