A Christmas Redemption

On Christmas Eve, aging Vietnam veteran Les makes his annual climb to the church steeple to hang the Christmas star—a tradition he has faithfully kept for fifty-five years. This year, with a failing knee and fading strength, he wonders if he can make the climb alone.

Then he discovers Kacee, an eighteen-year-old runaway hiding inside the church.

What begins as an unlikely bargain—her help getting the star to the steeple in exchange for a hot meal—becomes a night of shared stories, painful memories, and unexpected healing. As Les reveals the wartime experience that transformed his faith, Kacee begins to confront her own grief, loneliness, and doubts about God.

Sometimes the answer to a prayer comes in the most unexpected form. And sometimes the light we carry for others helps us find our own way home.
