by DiAnn Mills @DiAnnMills

Meet bestselling author Kate Angelo — my featured romantic suspense author for April!

Bio

Kate Angelo is the Publishers Weekly bestselling author of Hunting the Witness, Selah Award winner of Deadly Holiday Hijack, and Amazon Top 100 bestseller of Driving Force. She serves on the executive board of American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) and works alongside her husband championing stronger marriages and families.

Her journey from foster care to bestselling author fuels her fast-paced romantic suspense, where flawed characters discover hope and healing through life’s fiercest trials and relationships. When she’s not putting fictional people through the wringer, she’s out creating real-life happily-ever-afters at conferences and events nationwide.

About Hunted in the Outback

Briar Dunstan thought she was arriving in Sydney to meet a new friend. Instead, she’s met with a gun to her back and a stranger’s voice demanding she hand over a century-old secret — one tied to her great-grandfather’s mysterious past. Forced into the Australian outback, Briar teams up with constable Connor Walker. Together they face treacherous terrain, a dangerous adversary, and a hidden legacy of rare opals — with stakes growing deadlier as they close in on the truth.

Getting to Know Kate

Q: What is your home state? I currently live in Missouri, but once a Texan, always a Texan! 🤠

Q: Tell us a little about you: By day, I’m the Vice President of a nonprofit dedicated to helping people build stronger marriages and families — which means I travel the country, speak at events, and work alongside my incredible husband, Jerry Angelo, who is equal parts brilliant and endlessly patient. (The patience is basically a job requirement when you’re married to a suspense novelist.) Back home, my tri-colored longhaired Chihuahua, Willow, keeps things lively. Her mini adventures have quietly become a fan favorite in my newsletters. Yes, the dog has a following. I have no notes.

Q: What is your superpower? ADHD — but I call it DAVE: Dopamine Attention Variability Executive-dysfunction. I don’t have a deficit in attention; I just struggle to regulate it. And when that tips into hyperfocus? Watch out. The real gifts: creativity, unexpected problem-solving, genuine empathy, thriving under pressure, big-picture thinking, and a brain that never stops searching for something new to learn. DAVE isn’t a disorder. It’s a superpower with a slightly organized filing system.

Q: What is your favorite vacation spot? Empty beaches with azure waters. Sapphire works in a pinch. Basically, anything with blue waters, fewer people, and more horizon.

Q: What is your favorite genre? Psychological suspense thrillers with a thread of romance — which tracks, since that’s pretty close to what I write.

Q: Do you have a hobby? Besides reading (which barely counts when you’re an author), I’m a self-described tech enthusiast. Spare time finds me coding or rescuing other people’s websites from the digital abyss. I contain multitudes.

Q: What do you want readers to know? How much I truly cherish them. Writing sounds dreamy until you’re staring down a deadline with seventeen browser tabs open and a plot hole the size of the outback. But knowing readers are waiting on the other side of all that? That’s everything. Your support doesn’t just mean the world — it keeps the words coming.

Q: What are you reading? An early copy of The Girl Upstairs by Jessica R. Patch.
