The Writer’s Desk

By DiAnn Mills @DiAnnMills

Ever wonder what a writer’s desk looks like?

  • Is it a mess?
  • Stacks of paper?
  • Littered with M&Ms?
  • Cookie crumbs?
  • An assortment of coffee cups?
  • Does it reveal his/her personality?
  • Does it reflect how their mind works?

Here’s some pics of the primary area where I write:

How do you think it compares with other writer’s desks?

  1. DiAnn, your office looks just like you—so put together and beautiful! Mine looks like me—sloppy, but interesting. 🤣

  2. Everything was lovely! I knew you’d be uberorganized! (I did expect a small coffee bar in one corner of the room. 💜☕💜)
Does the Writer’s Block Soap make your brain cells slicky so ideas fly from your mind to your fingertips? 😉
Thanks for sharing your special place!!

  3. I’m green with envy. In the middle of two consulting projects; just returned from my writer’s group late last night, need to organize my mess! I’ll post a photo on Twitter. Mr. Mills will understand.

  4. My husband keeps asking me when I’m going to clean up my office. Maybe when I finish this years edits. I know where everything is in my mess. I would hate for anyone to see my desk or my whole space.

  5. My desk looks like a small tornado went through my office. Mine is littered with glasses, cups, water bottles, printed this and that, and gum wrappers (So I don’t have the M&Ms and candy wrappers.) I clean it off and it takes about two days to mess up again.

  6. You are way to organized. Maybe that’s why you get so much done! Lol My desk collects multiple water bottles, ice tea glasses, and nuts (peanuts, cashews, almonds). Not to mention a stack of mail I must go through and a few books I’ve promised to review. I’m trying to do better!
