There’s nothing better than having more insight into our favorite authors. So I asked Darlene a few questions.
Q: What is your home state?
A. Ontario, Canada
Q: Tell us a little about you
A. I have always loved mysteries ever since I picked up my first Nancy Drew book as a child. Don’t laugh, but I even started my own “Mindy Dobson” series. I only wished I would have kept them as it would have been fun to re-read them now. That was what sparked my love of writing. Today, I write inspirational romantic suspense and thrillers filled with danger, twists, and romance. A pumpkin spice latte is a huge obsession, and I’m a firm believer that cowboy boots go with pretty much everything (especially plaid!). When I’m not dreaming up creative ways to put my characters in trouble, you’ll probably find me sipping coffee, wearing plaid, and snuggled up with a good book.
Q: What is your superpower?
A. Friends call me the Plaid Queen! Haha! I own close to 40 plaid shirts—because apparently one can never have too much plaid. My superpower? Turning every day into plaid season!
Q: What is your favorite vacation spot?
A. At a cabin in the mountains by a lake.
Q: What is your favorite genre?
A. Romantic suspense/thriller
Q: Do you have a hobby?
A. Yes, I love to tole paint. That’s painting scenes on wood.
Q: What do you want readers to know!
A. Readers mean so much to me! Every book they buy and review they leave, means more than you know. I hope my stories keep them flipping pages way past their bedtime (sorry…not sorry!) while reminding them that even in the darkest moments, God is always there. So grab a latte, wear some plaid, and enjoy the suspenseful ride!
Q: What are you reading?
A. Right now I’m reading The Unknown by Riley Sager. It’s a psychological thriller in the general market.
Q: Any other special interests?
A. Reading is t the top of my list (of course), watching movies, and taking walks with my hubby.
